I am a cultural operator specialized on photography, based in Istanbul.
I am educated as a molecular biologist, but got interested in photography during my education and self educated myself on photography. After taking place in several organizations, with a group of friends we started to publish a photography magazine called Genis Aci. The magazine was published between 1997-2006 and with its 50th issue stopped its publication. Following the experience of publishing an independent magazine for 10 years, we established an initiative dealing with developing art&culture projects, consulting photographers, organizing workshops, collecting photography, collaborating with international institutions for exhibitions, books, etc.
